It's always tough to report crowd estimates - often it's more an art than science.

Last year the Mountain Moral Monday in Asheville reportedly drew 10,000. That was the number organizers used.

The Asheville Police Department said it was half that amount.

This year, the police estimated about 3,500 attended the protest.

I understand this has angered some of the MoMo supporters - who allege a conspiracy by the media to under-estimate the demonstration.

Actual crowd counts aside, it's obvious the 2014 rally was not as well-attended as the 2013 rally.
