Democratic Governor Roy Cooper is preparing to deliver his first State of the State address.
He's gotten off to a rough start with Republicans in the General Assembly, especially over his powers, and that's why many people see this as a chance for him to show his vision for the state and demonstrate his leadership skills. Governor Cooper is expected to focus on repealing House Bill 2, expanding Medicaid and investing in education and a skilled workforce.
The address is scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight.
