City Council Approves Affordable Housing Complex

The City of Asheville is investing over one-and-a-half-million dollars for downtown affordable housing.

At a meeting last week, the City Council voted to approve the building of at least 64 apartment homes on city-owned property on Hillard Avenue.

The complex is expected to be built by the spring of 2019.

Officials say that rent could be around 600-dollars for a one-bedroom apartment.
