An Asheville mother is relieved after she heard from her daughter who was aboard the USS Fitzgerald on Saturday.
The Navy ship collided with a container ship in the waters of Japan and seven sailors were killed.
The sailor's mother told "WLOS" that reaching out to the families of the sailors who were lost is her primary focus after finding out her daughter is safe.
