Dollar Nears 3-Year Lows On Shutdown Fears

The dollar is trading near three-year lows as investors worry about what a looming government shutdown might do to the world economy.

A short-term funding bill the House passed yesterday is considered a long shot in the Senate.

If Congress doesn't approve some kind of spending bill, the federal government will run out of money at midnight.

That will shut down dozens of federal agencies, putting hundreds of thousands of people temporarily out of work.
