Local high schools are already seeing signs of protest as a group of 50 students staged a walk-out against gun violence at Polk County High School yesterday.
Students also held signs with names of the 17 students killed last week in the Parkland, Florida shooting.
This walk-out precedes a national walk-out that circulated on social media set for March 14th.
The school also reported that a threatening message was left on a restroom wall yesterday.
The principal requested additional officers at the school for precautionary measures.
