Travelers Through Newark Airport Might Have Been Exposed To Measles

The New Jersey Department of Health issued a press release warning travelers that they may have been exposed to the Measles virus if they traveled through Newark Liberty International Airport in late May.

According to an article published in the New York Post, a visitor from Tokyo, who was infected with the disease, arrived in Newark Airport's Terminal B on May 29th at approximately 5:00 p.m. The ill traveler left the airport later that day through Terminal A on his way to Quebec, Canada.

The press release says anyone who was in the airport between 5:00 pm May 29 and 3:30 pm May 30th could have been exposed to the virus.

Health officials say those who have not been vaccinated against the disease could present symptoms as late as June 20th. They also encourage anyone who was in Terminal A and B on May 29th and 30th and have not been vaccinated to check with their medical providers if they feel ill.
