It's going from bad -- to worse -- in Northern California. As wildfires continue to rage in wine country, residents in Santa Rosa are showing off giant chunks of ash that have been falling from the sky.

One Santa Rosa resident thought it was a toupee laying in the street in front of her house, but when she looked closer - it was a shockingly huge, dark mass of ash stuck together.
"It was laying in the street in front of my house," Santa Rosa resident Morgan Balaei told CNN of the large ash chunk. "At first it looked like someone's toupee."
The "Glass Fire" has exploded to more than 36,000 acres in less than 48 hours, forcing thousands of people to evacuate. And on Monday night, Governor Gavin Newsom even declared a state of emergency in response to the new flames.
"I find this fire different with regards to the amount of ash and the fact that you see a lot of burnt leaves among it," Balaei added.
There are at least 22 large fires currently burning in California according to the National Fire Interagency Center.
