8:13- BREADWINNER SYNDROME: STUDY REVEALS THE MAIN REASON WIVES DIVORCE THEIR HUSBANDS
A new study from Harvard University found that the main reason women divorce their husbands is a lack of employment. Researchers looked at 46 years of data, from 1698-2013, of over 6,300 U.S. heterosexual married couples. The study found that, after 1975, men who were not employed had a 3.3. percent chance of getting divorced, compared to a 2.5 percent chance of divorce for men who were employed. This .8 difference seems small, but the study took into account a number of other relationship factors like household responsibilities, economic co-dependence and finances and none of these had as strong of a correlation with an increased chance of divorce as the husband’s employment status.Why would employment impact marriage?Divorce Attorney JIM MUELLER
