TOPIC 1- TRUMP SUES TO BLOCK SUBPOENA FROM HOUSE DEMOCRATS FOR BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL INFORMATION

President Trump sued his own accounting firm and the Democratic chairman of the House Oversight Committee at the same time Monday - trying an unusual tactic to stop the firm from giving the committee details about Trump’s past financial dealings. The lawsuit, filed in federal court in the District of Columbia, seeks a court order to quash a subpoena issued last week by the committee to Mazars USA. Trump’s lawyers also are asking a federal judge to temporarily block the subpoena until the court has had a chance to review their request.

Brace yourselves: Prosecutors in Florida said Wednesday that they intend to release police surveillance videos of New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft allegedly paying for sex at a Palm Beach county massage parlor. According to the Boston Globe, Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg’s office said in court papers it is obligated under Florida law to provide the video to the public and the media now and cannot wait for a judge to decide whether it should be kept under seal while Lei Wang is prosecuted as the alleged manager of the Orchids of Asia Spa in Jupiter, Fla.

Crowdfunding is one of the hottest new phenomena. Unfortunately, with how easy it is to raise money, many scammers have made off with countless people’s money. One of the most notorious of these scams involved a seemingly sweet story about a homeless veteran who gave a couple his last $20 for gas. In return, as the story went, the couple wanted to reward the stranger for his kindness, so they setup a GoFundMe page to solicit donations to help him.
