What I've been reading today....
From Nick Ochsner at WBTV: North Carolina Republican Party Executive Director Dallas Woodhouse plans to step down.
From John Hood at the Carolina Journal: "From February 2010 to February 2019, manufacturing employment in NC grew by 10%. What makes that notable is that during the preceding decade, from 2000 to 2010, the state's manufacturing employment fell fairly steadily, by a cumulative 44 percent."
Citing a San Francisco Chronicle report, NC Representative John Szoka pointed out on Twitter: "@HRBlock reports that it’s average client paid $1,200 less in federal taxes in 2018 than in 2017. In NC taxpayers are paying on average $1,131 less in federal taxes, meaning you are keeping more of your hard-earned money!"
Brian Balfour at the Civitas Institute points out: Americans continue their march towards low-tax states.
Meanwhile, a member of the New York Times Editorial Board says everyone's tax returns should be public.
And, no, criticizing Rep. Ilhan Omar is not inciting violence, writes Warren Henry.
