CNN anchor Chris Cuomo got approached by a guy who called him "Fredo."
Cuomo got mad at the use of the term - because conservatives have been using it to mock him. So, Cuomo threatened the guy with various forms of physical violence - including pushing the guy down the stairs.
Cuomo has always been a goon and a bully. He pretends to denounce violence, while defending the use of force when he deems it "right." His persona is intrinsically tied to his muscle mass, as he appears to equate bulk with truth and righteousness.
Now, that being said, I don't begrudge the guy for getting mad at a heckler. Unfortunately, he's demanding a standard that no longer exists. The left's iconoclasm has ripped down the kind of standards of civility that he's demanding be observed.
More and more people are adopting the tactics of the left.
Of course, this spells real danger for our society. But I am not sure anyone is willing to walk back from the ledge. People on the right increasingly see this as the only way to fight back against a movement that calls opponents deplorable names while accusing them of despicable motives.
I don't know how it gets better.
