Steve Kerr is awful

Granted, I am probably biased against Steve Kerr because he was on the Chicago Bulls in the 90s and I had to endure watching my NY Knicks lose annually to his team... but STILL!

This guy is perfectly happy to spam his Twitter feed with social justice pontifications and lamentations, but cannot muster a single thought on whether the communist Chinese regime may be a tad tyrannical when it comes to oppressing religious minorities. Instead, Kerr uses a question about the NBA-China situation to instead slam America. Because he's awful.

Meanwhile, the courageous officials at the NBA have decided to remain silent for the rest of the trip to China.

Saturday’s game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Brooklyn Nets to end this year’s NBA China Games series will be played as scheduled in Shenzhen, though there will be no news conferences for players or coaches before or after that contest.
The NBA came to that conclusion after talking with the teams and the National Basketball Players Association about what would be best for players.
“We have decided not to hold media availability for our teams for the remainder of our trip in China,” the NBA said. “They have been placed into a complicated and unprecedented situation while abroad and we believe it would be unfair to ask them to address these matters in real time.”

Aw. Poor babies.

So, these leftists have been demanding we all care about their political pet projects and ideologies, but when it comes to commenting on whether China maybe shouldn't be oppressing a billion people - well, the players (and the sweet, sweet Chinese cash) must be protected.

Then again... if they're going to say stupid crap like Steve Kerr... maybe silence is the better option here.
