Asheville School Board Could Shorten School Days

The Asheville school board has a big vote coming Monday that could change the school day for the city's elementary schools.

The board is considering reducing the school day by 25 minutes.  If cutting the length of the school day is approved, the schools would still be in compliance with state guidelines of one-thousand-25 hours.

Officials say even with a reduction, Asheville's elementaries would still be delivering about one-thousand-50 hours.
