DOT Plans To Use Drones To Deliver Medical Supplies

The state Department of Transportation is planning to test drones for delivering medical supplies to hard-to-reach areas.

The DOT has submitted a proposal to the FAA to test the idea.

Transportation Secretary Jim Trogdon says drones could be used to transport supplies from one hospital to another in cases of emergency to avoid traffic.

The state should know by May if a grant has been approved to test the idea.
