Reward Offered In Forest City Homicide

(Forest City, NC) -- A reward is being offered in a Forest City deadly double shooting. Investigators say Brandon Holland was killed and a woman was injured when shots were fired on Harmon Street just over a week ago. It's reportedly connected to a shooting without injuries just the day before. on Chase High Road. Crime Stoppers is offering up to two-thousand-dollars for information in the case.

Taste America Tour Starts In Asheville

(Asheville, NC) -- Asheville is being celebrated for its culinary arts by the James Beard Foundation. The city was the first to be featured in the nonprofit's annual Taste America tour this year, with a stop at La Bodega by Curate in downtown yesterday. (Polk County, NC) -- A man is accused of aiding his brother in the murder of their father in Polk County. Qualon Sutton was arrested for allegedly shooting his dad during an altercation on Fox Mountain Road Monday morning. Now, investigators say Sutton's brother helped him elude police after the murder. His charges include being an accessory after the fact.

Charlotte School Receives Sizable Donation After Fire

(Charlotte, NC) -- A Charlotte school is receiving help in its efforts to rebuild. A fire massively damaged Charlotte Preparatory School when flames tour through the campus last month. A 150-thousand-dollar donation from the Phillip L. Van Every Foundation through a grandparent was recently made to aid recovery. The lower school will use temporary classrooms when school begins next month.

Charlotte Businessman Indicted For COVID Fraud

(Charlotte, NC) -- A Charlotte businessman is accused of running a one-point-two-million-dollar COVID scam. Federal investigators say Glynn Hubbard, Junior filled out fake COVID relief applications in the spring and summer of 2020 for multiple businesses that netted him half-a-million-dollars. He allegedly pocketed the rest through loans and improper loan preparer fees. He was indicted this week on fraud charges.

Uptown Parking Deck To Receive Facelift

Gary Davis reportedly admitted to trafficking between 100-to-200-pounds of fentanyl through the means of a supplier in California before he was caught a few-years ago. The U.S. Attorney's Office says Davis was sentenced to 15-years this week.

The rear section of the facility suffered heavy roof and structural damage Wednesday, after it was hit by an EF-3 tornado, destroying an estimated 50-thousand pallets of medicine, forcing the factory to temporarily shut down. The Pfizer plant in Nash County produces nearly 25 percent of all injectable medicines in the U.S.

Man Gunned Down And Killed Near Bus Stop In Durham Thursday

(Durham, NC) -- Police in Durham are investigating a fatal drive-by shooting near a bus stop yesterday. It happened just before 4 p.m. along the one-thousand block of Raynor Street near the Village Shopping Center. Witnesses say someone in a car drove by and fired several shots, wounding an adult male. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities have not released a description of the vehicle, nor the identity of person that was killed.

Bill To Expand Casino Gambling Into Four North Carolina Counties Being Planned

(Raleigh, NC) -- New draft legislation proposed in the General Assembly, would authorize the expansion of casino gambling in four more North Carolina counties. Four Wounded In Greensboro Shooting

(Greensboro, NC) -- Four people are wounded following a shooting in Greensboro. Police say shots were fired last night in the 19-hundred block of Brice Street. Officers found two people who had been shot and both were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Two more shooting victims arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle. No arrests have been made.

Father, Son Arrested After Shots Fired At Deputies In Greensboro

(Greensboro, NC) -- A father and son are facing gun and drug charges after shots were fired at Guilford County deputies serving a drug-related search warrant in Greensboro. Authorities say deputies entered a home yesterday on Perga Court and confronted Amarion Mann, who was armed with a rifle. Amarion fired shots at the deputies who returned fire. No injuries were reported. Amarion and his father, Jequan Mann, were taken into custody.

Man Shot And Killed At Vigil For Another Shooting Victim In Winston-Salem

(Winston-Salem, NC) -- A man is dead after he was shot during a vigil for another shooting victim in Winston-Salem. Police say Ricky Renea Davis was attending a vigil Wednesday night on South Martin Luther King Jr Drive, where Aljerone Sims was shot and killed on Monday. Someone walked up and shot Davis, who died at the hospital. No arrests have been made. Authorities did announce yesterday that Greensboro Police Department had arrested Davon Maurice Moore in connection to the shooting of Sims.

Two Charged After Horses Seized In Davie Co

(Davie Co., NC) -- Two people are facing animal cruelty charges after nearly a dozen horses were seized in Davie County. Authorities say Davie County Animal Services received complaints last week about the condition of horses located at Hwy 158 in Advance. Deputies searched the home and found a number of horses that appeared to be malnourished and improperly cared for. Amanda Lowe were Brandon Hedrick were both arrested.
