Some Asheville residents say flyers supporting the Ku Klux Klan have shown up in their neighborhoods. Reports came in from the Montford neighborhood and west Asheville. Asheville Police told WLOS-TV that they believe more were handed out that weren't reported. The flyers were recruitment propaganda for a group called Loyal White Knights.
Haywood Hospital Limiting Visitations Due To Flu (Haywood County, NC)
Officials at Haywood Regional Medical Center are reporting a sharp rise in flu cases since Friday. The hospital is now implementing limited visitations after more than 20 patients were treated in the last few days. Visitors must be 12 years or older with no respiratory illnesses. Pregnant women have been advised to avoid visiting as well.
Investigators Looking Into Horse Shooting In Polk (Polk County, NC)
Polk County investigators are continuing to investigate the fatal shooting of a horse. She was found early last Thursday morning in a pasture. Veterinarians at Tryon Equine Hospital believe the shooting was intentional because the shooting was done at close range. The filly was bred to compete in show jumping.

The CMPD is investigating a deadly shooting in east Charlotte. A woman died at the scene of a home on Great Laurel Road near Albemarle Road early Monday afternoon. Investigators questioned a person of interest at the home. They haven't said if anyone has been charged.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police don't believe three home invasions early Monday morning are connected. WSOC-TV says they all happened within two-thousand feet of each other in a two-hour time frame. Incidents at a Parkland Circle apartment and a Wallace Glen Drive home both involved at least four male suspects. A reported home invasion at a Delta Crossing Lane apartment involved one suspect.

The Body Found In The Neuse River Is Identified As A Missing Trucker (Kinston, NC)
A body found in the Neuse River is being identified as a missing trucker. Officials say more than a month ago, 29-year-old Richard White Junior crashed his truck off the U.S. Highway 70 Bridge. The tractor-trailer was found in the Neuse River, but despite a two day search, divers couldn't find his body. On Saturday, White's body washed up near Kinston. The crash happened during a major winter storm.

Delta is adding a couple big stops for folks flying out of the Raleigh-Durham International airport. They announced yesterday that they would be adding nonstop service to Pittsburgh and New Orleans. Don't plan a Mardi Gras trip just yet, because the new flights are set to begin on June Eighth. There will be daily round trips to Pittsburgh and weekend service to New Orleans.

Cumberland County leads the state in human trafficking arrests. The Fayetteville Observer reports that last year 34 people were arrested there on human trafficking, sexual servitude or involuntary servitude charges. Wake County came in second with 15 similar arrests. Experts think the problem may not be worse in Cumberland County, but they have a human trafficking task force, and they may just be making more arrests than counties without one.
A Wake County Teen Is Accused Of Threatening 3rd Graders On Snapchat (Wake Forest. NC)
A teenager in Wake County is facing serious charges for allegedly threatening young students. Deputies say 18-year-old Isaiah Napier lives near Jones Dairy Elementary School and he made a false report concerning mass violence on educational property. Apparently, he posted a picture of an Airsoft rifle on Snapchat with the text, "bruh these bleeping third graders won't stop calling my mom gay, so I'm-a shoot theirs, that'll teach 'em." Napier says it was supposed to be a joke. He's behind bars in Wake County and due in court today.
Rocky Mount Officials Discuss The Future Of Their City Manager (Rocky Mount, NC)
The Rocky Mount city manager is facing some serious accusations. Yesterday, city leaders met in a special session meeting about manager Rochelle Small-Toney. Residents say she hired a friend for a major city position who made a mistake on a housing project that cost taxpayers nearly 200-thousand-dollars. They also say Small-Toney spent nearly 90-thousand-dollars in city funds to renovate her office. The city council didn't make a decision, but they meet again on Monday to discuss this again.
New Details Released In High Point Shooting (High Point, NC)
High Point PD is releasing more details about a shooting this past weekend. It happened Sunday afternoon near Old Winston Road and Moffitt Drive. Officers say a 22-year-old victim was found suffering a gunshot wound when they arrived, and a second victim, who's 24, was taken to the hospital in a personal vehicle. Officers say an AR-15, ammo and drugs were found in a home on Moffitt Drive. They're currently investigating whether the shooting was either drug or gang-related.
Winston-Salem PD Looking For Armed Robbery Suspects (Winston-Salem, NC)
Winston-Salem police are looking for two carjacking suspects. It happened Sunday night on South Main Street. Police say a shorter man in his 50s hit the victim in the head with a gun and demanded his valuables, including his car keys. They say a second suspect, who's about 25-years-old, took the keys. Both men fled in the car which was later found abandoned. Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
Greensboro Unveils New MLK Bust (Greensboro, NC)
The City of Greensboro is unveiling a new structure in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The city unveiled the bust of Dr. King yesterday. It's located on the corner of MLK Boulevard and Bragg Street. That's a couple blocks away from the old structure, which was removed a few years ago. The new one is made of bronze and sits on a granite pedestal. Below it is a note about how Dr. King called off his trip to Greensboro the day he was assassinated in Memphis.
Asheboro Man Accused Of Shooting Electrical Transformer, Causing Outage (Asheboro, NC)
An Asheboro man is accused of shooting an electrical transformer and causing a power outage. It happened Friday in the area of Millie Lane. Police identified the shooter as Augustus McAndrew and issued warrants for his arrest. He was arrested a day later on several charges and is due in court today.
Lexington Police Investigating String Of Robberies (Lexington, NC)
Lexington police are investigating a string of robberies this month. The latest one happened yesterday morning at Gran Prix gas station on West Fifth Avenue. Police say a man wearing a mask robbed the clerk at gunpoint. They say four other robberies were reported since the start of the year, including one that injured a restaurant owner.
