Cooper Releases Plan on Opening North Carolina Schools

North Carolina public schools will open for both in-person and remote learning alongside with extra safety precautions for the fall.

Classroom numbers will be limited and students will be able to make a choice as to whether they want to be in class or they want to use remote learning.

In person learning will consist of face coverings for all teachers, students and staff members. Those will be provided by the state.

Temperature checks will take place daily and schools must have a place to isolate children safely should an incident arise.

School districts will also be allowed to choose an "Option C"...all remote learning, if they feel that's the best option for them.

Cooper said if the State's numbers begin to spike, schools will need to roll back to all remote learning.

Cooper also announced that the state will remain under Phase 2 guidelines for 3 more weeks.
