(Jackson County, NC) -- Another child is dead in a Jackson County shooting. Investigators say a ten-year-old died Monday after initially being injured on Sunday. A 15-year-old also died shortly after the shooting off Ferguson Road in Sylva. The sheriff's office hasn't released many details about the investigation. It's unclear if any charges have been filed.

Vietnamese Electric Car Maker To Build Billion Dollar Plant In Chatham County

(Chatham County, NC) -- Officials with Vietnamese electric automaker VinFast were in Chatham County Tuesday to announce the largest economic development in North Carolina history. The startup company founded in 2017, will invest around 4-billion dollars on construction of a manufacturing facility that will be located in the county's Triangle Innovation Point. VinFast also plans to hire around 75-hundred workers to produce around 2-thousand electric vehicles each year. The average wage will be around 51-thousand dollars a year.

Replica Of Vietnam War Memorial To Go On Display Tomorrow In Garner

(Garner, NC) -- A replica of the Vietnam War Memorial is now in Garner. The 375-feet long wall, which features the names of over 58-thousand U.S. military personnel who died in the more than 19-year long conflict, will be on display at Lake Benson Park, from Thursday through Sunday. Raleigh Police Officer Hospitalized Following Vehicle Crash

(Raleigh, NC) -- A Raleigh police officer is in the hospital after being involved in a vehicle crash. It happened just after 9:pm at the intersection of Capital and Westinghouse boulevards. Investigators say the officer was attempting to turn left onto Westinghouse, when the driver of a pickup slammed into his police cruiser. The officer was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. The truck driver was not hurt.

Tarboro Police Officer Injured By Driver Trying To Outrun Law Enforcement

(Tarboro, NC) -- A police officer in Tarboro is recovering from minor injuries after he was struck by a driver who was trying to flee law enforcement. It happened Tuesday at the intersection of Western Boulevard and Howard Avenue. According to the Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office, the driver, identified as Major Lamont Perry, tried to elude Deputies who were conducting a traffic stop. Perry was later arrested without incident at his home in Rocky Mount.
