His car was discovered in a restaurant parking lot a short time later, but the case went cold. Robert Owens pleaded guilty yesterday to being an accessory after the fact of murder.

Forensic Nurses To Begin Work At WNC Hospital

Former Teacher Sentenced For Pornography
(Buncombe County, NC) -- A former Buncombe County teachers is heading to prison. A judge sentenced Christopher Lee Todd yesterday to just over three-years for child pornography charges. Investigators say they found thousands of images on his electronic devices. Todd previously taught at Cane Creek Middle School in Canton.
Stadium Demolition Underway
(Canton, NC) -- Improvements are underway at a western North Carolina football stadium. Crews are busy this week demolishing Pisgah Memorial Stadium, which was heavily damaged by remnants of Tropical Storm Fred nearly a year ago. The turf is in the process of being removed and replaced. Monkeypox Vaccines Coming To Charlotte

Public health officials confirmed Monday that 700 doses are coming to Charlotte, amid a waiting list of over 600 people looking for the shots. Around two-thirds of North Carolina's 27 monkeypox cases have been identified in Mecklenburg County. The illness causes flu-like symptoms for several weeks.

Fight On GoTriangle Bus Ends With Passenger Being Slashed In The Face
(Raleigh, NC) -- One passenger aboard a GoTriangle bus had to be hospitalized after being slashed in the face by another passenger during a fight. It happened just before 7 p.m. as the bus was traveling along the 200-block of South Wilmington Street in Raleigh. Police are investigating to try and determine what caused the altercation. The suspect, identified as 32-year old Phillip Brimmage, was arrested and taken into custody. The victim's injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.

Over 40-Shots Fired During Drive-By Shooting At Durham Convenience Store

There were no injuries, but at least two vehicles and the store were riddled with bullet holes. Investigators are examining surveillance video to try and identify the car the suspected shooters were riding in. So-far, no arrests have been made.

According to GM Don Wadell, Dzingel was signed to a one-year two-way contract for 750-thousand dollars at the NHL level and 150-thousand at the American Hockey League level with a 200-thousand dollar guarantee.
