(Rutherford County, NC) -- Details behind a tragic fire are being investigated in Rutherford County. It was last Friday morning when flames swept through a home on Bostic Sunshine Highway. A two- and three-year-old died as a result from injuries in the fire. Investigators say they believe the blaze started in the living room, but the cause is unknown.
March, Service Honoring MLK Held In Asheville

Young People To Document Reparations Commission Work
(Asheville, NC) -- The work behind the Community Reparations Commission in Buncombe County is going to be documented by young people. WLOS-TV reports the Arteria Collective was chosen last week with the task of telling the story in the process of repairing damages caused by systemic racism locally. Seven young people from the nonprofit will be part of the team. Members will attend commission meetings while documenting the process.
Man Dies In Rutherfordton Workplace Accident
(Rutherfordton, NC) -- A workplace death is being reported in Rutherfordton. The Rutherford County sheriff's office say the worker was at Parton Lumber last week when there was an accident involving a forklift. Investigators are working to find exactly how the accident happened. The name of the victim hasn't been released.

Old Fire Engine Turned Into Party Zone
(Asheville, NC) -- Two Asheville firefighters are bringing a different kind of party to the city. They told WLOS-TV they purchased an old fire engine to convert it into what's being called the Hot Zone Party Fire Engine. It includes speakers, coolers and custom-made benches for up to 14-people. Another engine is soon expected to be added to form a party fleet.
Two Teens Arrested After Car Stolen With Child Inside
(Charlotte, NC) -- Two Charlotte teens are accused of stealing a car with a child inside. The CMPD says a 14- and 15-year-old crashed at North Graham Street and Rumple Road last night after officers tried to stop them. A four-year-old was discovered safe in the backseat. The site of the alleged kidnapping hasn't been released by the police department.

The analytics website Cirium just released results from a study, which show CLT ranks sixth in the U.S. and tenth overall in the world. Wake County Firefighter Injured While Battling A House Fire Near Garner
(Wake County, NC) -- A Wake County firefighter is recovering from injuries sustained while battling a Monday night house fire near Garner. It happened around 6:30 pm at a home along the 1500-block of Pagan Road. Some 15-fire units were called in to help extinguish the blaze, which took more than two hours. Investigators say the firefighter was injured when part of the structure collapsed. He was rushed to WakeMed for treatment. No word on his condition.

In a statement released on Monday, the University reported on-campus cases had fallen more than 60-percent within the last week. However, masking in classrooms and other indoor activities is strongly recommended. Also, faculty members can still requests that masks be worn inside their classrooms.

Durham Woman Shot And Wounded While Driving In Winston-Salem
(Durham, NC) -- Authorities in Winston-Salem are looking for suspects who fired multiple gunshots into a vehicle, injuring a Durham woman and a 17-year old juvenile. The bullets also narrowly missed a three-month old baby inside the car. It happened around 1: o'clock Monday morning along the 2800-block of Thomasville Road. Investigators say the victims were simply trying to pass a car that was stopped on the side of the road when the gunmen opened fire. The woman and the juvenile's injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.
Triangle Area Law Enforcement Issues A Warning About A Recent Increase In Vehicle Thefts
(Triangle Area, NC) -- Law enforcement agencies across the Triangle have issued a new warning about a recent rise in the number of car thefts. Police in Durham reported more than 90-vehicles were stolen during the month of December. And in Raleigh, there were 325-auto thefts during the last quarter of 20022. Police continue to urge motorists not to leave their cars unlocked and to remove valuable items inside from the view of potential car thieves.

(Atlanta, GA) -- NC State will be on the road in Atlanta tonight taking on Georgia Tech. The Wolfpack enters the contest with a 14-4 overall record, after winning their last three games and six of their last seven outings. Georgia Tech is 8-9 on the season and just 1-6 in ACC play. Last Saturday, State got an 83-81 upset win over Miami in overtime. Big man DJ Burns had an impressive 13-points, nine rebounds and seven assists.
