Two more Cabinet nominees are put forth by Governor Roy Cooper. Cooper has nominated Raleigh corporate attorney and former assistant secretary of the Department of Commerce, Tony Copeland, to lead that agency. The Governor also has chosen Machelle Sanders, a former executive with global biopharmaceutical giant Biogen Idec, to lead the Department of Administration. Cooper says all agency appointments should be filled by the end of next week. He is expected to make more appointments Friday. The state Senate must vet and confirm or deny the Governor's appointments.
