Several mountain counties are under a high wind watch.
It affects Buncombe, Henderson, McDowell, Avery, Yancey and Mitchell counties. Forecasters say wind gusts could be strong enough to uproot trees and knock down power lines.
They could reach 60 miles per hour. The watch expires this afternoon.
