The suspect in a gruesome murder in Franklin County Monday is now wanted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for deportation. ICE officials say Oliver Funes-Machado, who is accused of beheading his mother at their home northeast of Zebulon, is in the country illegally. A public defender assigned to the case says the defendant may suffer from "substantial mental health issues." According to the News and Observer, the lawyer also referred to Funes-Machado as "a pretty profoundly disturbed young man."
