A wildfire in McDowell County, near Dobson Knob, has more than tripled in size since since being first reported Sunday. The US Forest Service says the 550-acre fire is just 10% contained, and the area is closed to visitors. Officials say the fire is threatening 45 structures, including 35 homes. Heavy smoke will be an issue in the North Cove, Woodlawn, and Linville Falls areas. About 90 firefighters are reportedly on the scene, trying to build containment lines.
