A woman and seven of her dogs are dead after police found her dead at her home last week.
Police say there was one dog acting aggressively towards them when they arrived at the home. They managed to get it out of the home with the help of Animal Services and killed it at the scene. The woman had injuries consistent with an animal attack.
Neighbors told police that the dogs had been poorly socialized. The family of the woman gave ownership of her dogs to the Humane Society and after evaluations by their behavior specialist, six of them were put to sleep.
One mastiff puppy is going to be placed up for adoption and one more dog is still being evaluated.
