Asheville police are searching for a suspect who threw an explosive device at four patrol officers last weekend.
Investigators believe the device was a commercial grade firework that was intentionally launched at the officers while they were walking around the Livingston Apartment complex.
The officers were not injured severely, but metal shrapnel had to be removed from their skin.
