WNC Gets Funding For Special Projects In New State Budge

Western North Carolina will benefit from the new state budget. Lawmakers agreed to grant the Hendersonville 100-thousand dollars to make improvements to downtown.

The Salisbury nonprofit Muddy Sneakers is receiving more funding for fifth grade outdoor education.

They also allocated four-million dollars for capital improvements to the Asheville Regional Airport.

Finally, around 200-thousand dollars will go towards fighting bug infestations that are killing off the local hemlock trees.
