The Asheville Police Department is seeking re-accreditation.
A number of community business leaders and activists spoke yesterday with officials from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies at the department.
The community members shared their views about police and their effectiveness in the community.
An initial review of the department will be done by next week.
A vote on re-accreditation is expected in November.
