Asheville Regional Airport Receives Federal Grant

Asheville Regional Airport is getting an update with an infusion of federal funding.

The U.S. Department of Transportation approved five-million dollars toward redeveloping the western North Carolina hub.

The monies will be used as part of a 75-million-dollar Project SOAR initiative that will resurface old runways, add a new one, and create a new taxiway.

The project is expected to be finished sometime next year.
