Asheville's city council is considering a ban on Airbnb rentals along a main commercial route.
The body began talks at Tuesday's meeting that could make it illegal for residents who live on a two-and-a-half-mile stretch of Haywood Road to rent out their homes.
Short-term rentals are already banned in Asheville neighborhoods that are zoned for residential use.
No word on when the city council will hold a vote on the possible ordinance change.
