A Leicester man is expected to serve life in prison for the murder of his daughter.
Seth Willis Pickering entered a guilty plea for stabbing six-year-old Lila Pickering near the Blue Ridge Parkway in September 2016.
U.S. Park Rangers say they witnessed the crime after he took the girl into a wooded area off the parkway.
The case may still be prosecuted on the federal level.
