The Buncombe County Sheriff's Department says the victim of a Sunday shooting has been identified as 23-year-old Jake Stewart.
Deputies were led on a high speed chase through two counties on I-40 after a lookout was placed on Cameron McElrath as a suspect in the shooting death.
McElrath crashed his vehicle into a patrol car and was arrested. He faces first-degree murder charges.
