The Asheville Police Department is looking to find out who leaked camera footage of a beating to the Citizen-Times.
The video is reported to be from last August and shows a former officer beating a man after a jaywalking.
Asheville Police Chief Tammy Hooper says the video isn't for public record and its release was illegal.
Both the APD and the district attorney say an investigation is needed.
