Henderson County

Henderson County Sheriff Charles McDonald has given his concession speech. With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Lowell Griffin beat McDonald 7,287 votes to 5,166.

Voters re-elected district attorney Greg Newman. The top prosecutor for Henderson, Polk and Transylvania counties walked away with about 70 percent of the votes against opponent Mary Hollocker.

In the Democratic race for Henderson County Commissioner District 1, Patricia Sheley (2,446 votes, 71 percent) defeated Michelle Antalec (1,015 votes, 29 percent).

In the Republican race for Henderson County Commissioner District 4, Rebecca McCall (6,104 votes, 51 percent) defeated Don Ward (5,775 votes, 49 percent).

Buncombe County

Quentin Miller was the top vote-getter in the Democratic race for Buncombe County sheriff. With 100 percent of of precincts reporting, Miller received 13,168 votes (54 percent).

Todd Williams edged Ben Scales in the race for District Attorney District 40. Williams collected12,956 votes (53 percent) to Scales'11,369 votes (47 percent).

In the Democratic race for Buncombe County Commissioner District 2, Amanda Edwards (3,056 votes, 40 percent) defeated Nancy Nehls Nelson (2,398 votes, 31 percent), Patrick Fitzsimmons (1,461 votes, 19 percent) and Dereck Lindsey (739 votes, 10 percent).

In the Democratic race for Buncombe County Commissioner District 3, Donna Ensley (3,017 votes, 61 percent) beat Catori Swann (1,111 votes, 23 percent) and Taylon Breeden (788 votes, 16 percent).
