A car registered to the suspect in a Tuesday night murder in Catawba County was discovered, crashed, in Transylvania County early Wednesday morning. Authorities say suspect Joseph Barker could still be in the area. His Toyota Camry wrecked along Old Rosman Highway, and it is not known if Barker fled in another vehicle or on foot. Residents were advised to stay indoors, if possible, and to report any suspicious activity to the Transylvania County Sheriff's Office at 884-3168. Barker is to be considered armed and dangerous.
