John Greenway, Assistant Fire Marshal for Rutherford County says the fire at the American Zinc plant in Mooresboro is still burning.
A decision was made to pull the firefighters away from the fire because their turnout gear tested positive for hazardous materials. Greenway calls it a precautionary measure until officials can determine exactly what they're dealing with.

MONDAY 3:30 AM UPDATE
Rutherford County emergency officials say an evacuation order was issued overnight for a half-mile radius around the American Zinc plant in Mooresboro.
The roadblock has been lifted along U.S. 221, however a roadblock is now in place on Hicks Grove Road, the location of the plant. An emergency shelter has opened at Chase Middle School for people who are living in the evacuation area.
