WSOC-TV says a two-month-old by died last week, five days after he was brought to the hospital by his parents. Investigators have not given a cause of death.
Renovations Cause Changes At ART Transit Station
(Asheville, NC) -- Passengers looking to get a lift from Asheville's city buses need to be aware of some changes this week. City officials say some buses will load riders on Asheland Avenue today as crews begin work on a new ART transit station in downtown. Ticketing and bathrooms will move into mobile units tomorrow. Close to two-million-dollars is being used to renovate the bus station.
APD Looking For Suspect Caught On Camera During Break-In
(Asheville, NC) -- Asheville police are investigating a break-in at a local church. Officers are looking for a suspect who was caught on camera inside the Biltmore United Methodist Church on Hendersonville Road early Friday evening. The church was also reportedly broken into twice in early August. Police are trying to find out if the separate break-ins are connected, and to see exactly what was taken.

(Cullowhee, NC) -- A ten-game losing streak is over for Western Carolina's football team. The Catamounts defeated Division Two school North Greenville 20-to-17 on Saturday in Cullowhee. Rock Hill Teen Killed In Lancaster
(Lancaster, SC) -- Lancaster investigators are looking into the death of a Rock Hill teenager. The 19-year-old was found shot on Carmel Road Sunday afternoon and later died at Lancaster Medical Center. The sheriff's office says they've identified a suspect, but no one has been arrested yet.
Cheerleaders Placed On Probation For Trump Sign
(Stanly County, NC) -- The cheerleading team from North Stanly High School is on probation for posing with a Trump 2020 banner. The Stanly News and Press is reporting the group and a few others held up the sign for a photo taken on the night of August 30th, when the football team was playing Piedmont. The North Carolina High School Athletic Association decided to place the cheerleaders on probation for the rest of the season because they say it created a negative athletic environment after the photo circulated on social media. Superintendent Jeff James says the students didn't violate any code of conduct and weren't disciplined.
Union County Teacher Investigated For Threats Aimed At VP
(Union County, NC) -- A Union County high school teacher is under investigation for allegedly making threats aimed at the vice president. Fox 46 is reporting the teacher told her Cuthbertson High students last week that Mike Pence should be shot in the head. The vice president visited the area to stump for newly-elected Congressman Dan Bishop. Both the school district and the Secret Service are looking into the alleged comment.
CMPD Looking For Armed Robbery Suspects
(Charlotte, NC) -- The CMPD is looking for a man accused of three armed robberies. Officers say 21-year-old Brian Chavarria recently let his ankle monitor die off Eastcrest Drive. WBTV is reporting he has been arrested for several violent crimes in the past couple of years, including the armed robberies and multiple charges of assaulting a female. Another armed robbery suspect, Lester Maipi, let his monitor expire on Central Avenue in Plaza Midwood.
Man Shot To Death In Rowan County
(Rowan County, NC) -- A shooting death is being investigated in Rowan County. Sheriff's investigators say a man was found dead in a yard on Foster Road in Woodleaf early Saturday morning. They say it appears gunfire was exchanged after collecting evidence from the scene. Two injured men who showed up at the Statesville ER earlier in the morning may be connected to the shooting.

Detention Officer Fired After Assault Arrest
(Raleigh, NC) -- An apparent case of domestic violence is responsible for a Wake County detention officer losing his job. The sheriff announced yesterday that Marcus Hinnant has been fired after he was arrested for assaulting a woman Saturday night on Wenesly Court. CBS 17 reports Hinnant pushed the mother of his child to the ground. The 26-year-old suspect is due in court today.

(Rolesville, NC) -- A woman is dead and a man is hurt after a shooting in Wake County. It happened Saturday night in Rolesville at a home on Sunset Manor Drive. The man is in critical condition. No details have been released on what happened, and no one has been identified.

Sunset Beach Fire officials say the boy got caught up in rip currents yesterday and had to be pulled from the water by lifeguards. Strong rip currents were reported at beaches throughout the state yesterday. Hurricane Humberto could cause similar conditions throughout the week.
Mulch Fire Burns In Fearrington Village
(Fearrington Village, NC) -- Spontaneous combustion is believed to be the cause of a fire in Chatham County. A large amount of mulch has been burning since Wednesday in Fearrington Village. Firefighters have been able to contain the fire, but they don't know how long it will take to extinguish it. They say rain would help, and the National Weather Service has showers and thunderstorms in the forecast for tomorrow.

(Burlington, NC) -- Three people are dead after a shooting in Burlington. Police, firefighters and EMS responded to a home on Adams Street yesterday afternoon. The victims were reportedly found inside of the home. Police say the public is not in danger. An investigation is ongoing.
Mount Airy Man, Woman Facing Drug-Trafficking Charges
(Surry Co., NC) -- A Mount Airy man and woman are accused of drug-trafficking. Rodney Goodwin and Tania Govea were arrested during a traffic stop in the Pine Ridge Community. Police seized large amounts of methamphetamine and cocaine from the vehicle. They say the drugs were near a small child. The man and woman were arrested on several drug-related charges, as well as child abuse.

Man Working On Race Car Burned
(Selma, NC) -- A Johnston County man is recovering from burns after the race-car he was working on exploded. The accident happened Saturday in a residential neighborhood. Officials say the car blew-up while the man was driving it back to a trailer. They say a fuel leak could be to blame. The victim is being treated at the NC Jaycee burn Center in Chapel Hill.
Men Arrested In Connection With Burlington Murder
(Burlington, NC) -- Two men are under arrest in connection with a murder in Burlington. Antonio Turner and Jeremiah Haraway were arrested Friday on suspicion of first-degree murder. They're accused of shooting and killing 19-year-old Myson Claude Russell, whose body was found of a home on Cloverdale Street one week ago. Police say there could be more arrests.
