Promote world peace... by adopting the zipper merge

My crusade for the zipper merge continues.

And, to be honest (if not a bit optimistic) -- it feels like the tide is turning in our favor. Granted, it's as slow as a rush hour rubbernecking on I-26, but still... it's progress.

More and more state Departments of Transportation are promoting the zipper merge. Including North Carolina.

Studies continue to prove the efficiency and superiority of the zipper merge.

Here are more links in case the creepy talking orange cones aren't compelling.

  • From the Civitas Institute: North Carolina House "Democrats have objected to a provision in the bill that makes the names of those removed from voter rolls for not being citizens public."
  • WRAL reports on the Legionnaires outbreak: It was the hot tubs. And the Citizen-Times reports that this weekend's gun show has been canceled, so the WNC Ag Center can voluntarily implement "an aggressive and comprehensive mitigation plan" at the Davis Event Center.
  • Salena Zito at the Washington Examiner: "We have become a culture of the moment. It’s not that we live in the moment; it’s that we consume moments. And when we take in moments, stripped of context, our assumptions and prejudices fill in the blanks."
  • The Wall Street Journal reports: "Ukraine said it is reviewing past investigations into the owner of a gas company linked to former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden’s son, raising the possibility of reopening them amid pressure from President Trump." Also, the WSJ has the story of how "The Trump administration sought to use a potential meeting between Trump and the Ukrainian president as leverage to press Kyiv to investigate Joe Biden, text messages show, as Mr. Trump called on China to also investigate his political rival."
  • Helen Raleigh writes at The Federalist: "Federal judge to Harvard: Racial discrimination is bad, except against Whites and Asians."
  • From HotAir.com: "Is it racist that Rep. Rashida Tlaib told Detroit Chief of Police James Craig that he should only hire black analysts to use facial recognition software because non-African-Americans think all African-Americans look alike? Chief Craig, who is himself African-American, is letting his opinion be known – if he made such a statement, people would be calling for his resignation."
  • From the Hendersonville Times-News: Downtown is getting a pubcycle! Oh, and also maybe a parking deck.
