Rep. Gonzales Talks Border Crisis, Hamas Threat, and Political Misdirection

Rep. Tony Gonzales, the highest-ranking military member in Congress, joined Joe Pags for a no-holds-barred discussion about the state of the nation. Drawing from his 20 years of service in the U.S. Navy, where he retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer and trained cryptologist, Gonzales offered his unique perspective on both domestic and international issues.

One of the focal points of the conversation was Gonzales’s criticism of Tim Walz, the current Democratic vice-presidential candidate, for allegedly misrepresenting his military service. Gonzales, who was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, called out Walz for exaggerating his rank and military experience, accusing him of using his service for political gain. Gonzales didn't hold back, expressing his frustration that Walz has built a narrative around his military service while misleading the public about his actual role.

Gonzales also used his extensive experience stationed in the Middle East to provide insights into the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel. Having lived and worked in the region during his deployments, he emphasized that Hamas is not merely a political faction but a dangerous terrorist organization that seeks the destruction of Israel. He outlined how Hamas has funneled international aid into building weapons and tunnels instead of schools and infrastructure, making any peace deal virtually impossible. Gonzales’s firsthand knowledge of the region left him questioning how U.S. politicians can continue to support Hamas or promote peace efforts without acknowledging these fundamental truths.

On the domestic front, Gonzales didn’t shy away from addressing the ongoing border crisis. He criticized the Biden administration’s lack of enforcement and highlighted the strain it has placed on border towns like those in his home state of Texas. According to Gonzales, the border situation is a direct result of the administration’s policies, which have allowed illegal immigration to spiral out of control, causing humanitarian and security crises along the southern border.
